TIFF 2010: Festival confirms this year’s attendees

The most anticipated TIFF announcement, after the films (or, before the films for many) is the one which informs the city which filmmakers and actors are coming to the festival.

This year’s list has just been announced, and includes: directors Clint Eastwood, Danny Boyle, Robert Redford, Ben Affleck, Werner Herzog and Errol Morris; actors Nicole Kidman, Matt Damon, Mickey Rourke, Robert De Niro, Clive Owen and Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Paul Giamatti, Juno Temple, Marion Cotillard, and Ellen Page; and musician Bruce Springsteen, NBA great Steve Nash, eco-activist David Suzuki and computer person Bill Gates.

First Look: Abe Sylvia’s Dirty Girl

We’ve got your first look at Juno Temple, Milla Jovovich, Mary Steenburgen and Willam H. Macy in Abe Sylvia’s Dirty Girl. If it hasn’t been so far named for TIFF, then we can assume that this FTW road trip comedy is headed to Sundance, basically setting up cinephiles for a full year of Juno Temple – she’s got Little Birds, Jack and Diane both in the can, and is set to star in Paul W.S. Anderson’s The Three Musketeers, which reteams Temple with Jovovich.

Written by Sylvia (the script was a 2007 mentioned Black List screenplay), set in 1986. Norman, Oklahoma. Floral print jeans and abstinence are all the rage. Tasteless, classless, fatherless Danielle (Juno Temple) — the “dirty girl” of Norman High School — dreams of one day finding the father that ran out on her. When Danielle is banished to special ed, she teams up with a closet-case, Clarke (Jeremy Dozier), to go on a cross-country search for her father, fleeing the small town that has kept them both from being their true selves.

Funny or Die: Cycop

About a month ago, Juno starred in a Funny or Die skit called CYCOP. A synoposis is below, and four outtake videos can be found here. As soon as I can download the video I’ll be making caps, so stay tuned!

Three parts “Robocop” + two parts “Terminator” + one part “Bladerunner” + four parts Solo (staring Mario Van Peebles) MULTIPLIED BY six parts “Short Circuit” divided by one half part “A River Runs Through It” = CYCOP! The tale of Wes Taggart, a cop who played by his own rules- until some drug dealing pimps dealt him a cold hand of death. OR DID THEY?! Now he’s back- with new cybernetic implants and justice is about to get CYCOP’d

Though not techincally a still, the first look at Juno on the set of Little Birds (formally Goodnight Moon) has been found online! As it’s now gone into post-production, hopefully this means that more stills and a trailer should be released in the next few months.

“Mr. Nobody” Screen Captures

I have just added 462 captures of Juno’s amazing performance as Anna from 2010 film Mr. Nobody. Unfortunately these aren’t DVD size/quality, but they are still pretty decent nevetheless – I advise you to rent this film if you can, it is amazing!
