Exclusive: Blonde Bombshell Juno Temple Bitten by ‘Jack & Dianne’

Posted by Celyn on March 08, 2010 • News & Articles

Bloody Disgusting has learned that Juno Temple (Year One, Wild Child) has been cast alongside Olivia Thirlby in Bradley Rust Gray’s sensual werewolf movie Jack & Diane. Temple will be replacing the previously announced Alison Pill. In the film Jack (Thirlby) and Diane (Temple), two teenage girls, meet in New York City and spend the night kissing ferociously. Diane’s charming innocence quickly begins to open Jack’s tough skinned heart. But, when Jack discovers that Diane is leaving the country in a week she tries to push her away. Diane must struggle to keep their love alive while hiding the secret that her newly awakened sexual desire is giving her werewolf-like visions. Shooting begins this May in New York.

Juno Temple is the Indie World’s New Darling

Posted by Celyn on February 16, 2010 • News & Articles

At 20 years old, British actress Juno Temple has recently experienced something of a breakthrough: “I’ve hit puberty!” she exclaims. “At last.” She’s referring to her career, of course. Temple, who got her start in 2006′s Notes on a Scandal, has acted in four boarding-school movies in the last two years and was more than ready to surrender the preppy uniform. “I was starting to feel like some teenage vampire who was never going to age,” she says. “It was definitely time for adulthood.”

This month, with the release of director Noah Baumbach’s new indie, Greenberg (starring Ben Stiller as the title character), Temple indeed takes on a more sophisticated role, as the chain-smoking, mischief-making best friend of Greenberg’s niece (Brie Larson). The film is a complicated take on love, aging, and self-realization–but Temple, for her part, spent much of her time on-screen catching up with real-life pals: “Our characters throw this party, and Noah had us invite our own friends,” she explains. “It was like girl-gossip time. I think that Ben Stiller was actually kind of intimidated.”

In the coming year, Temple will continue to expand her repertoire with the American releases of Cracks and Glorious 39, and the upcoming drama Dirty Girl, in which she’ll take the lead. At the moment, however, the Somerset, England, native is preoccupied with tackling one of her own coming-of-age rites: learning to drive in Los Angeles. “I just failed my permit test,” she groans. Luckily, she’s ready to work for her goals. “I wouldn’t ever want anything to fall in my lap,” she says. “You really should have to fight for what you want.”

Most Anticipated Films of 2010: Noah Baumbach’s “Greenberg”

Posted by Celyn on January 15, 2010 • Film

#22. Greenberg
Director/Writer: Noah Baumbach
Producers: Jennifer Jason Leigh and Scott Rudin
Distributor: Focus Features.

The Gist: Meet Roger Greenberg (Ben Stiller): a dysfunctional 40-year-old at a crossroads in his life. Roger wants to “do nothing” for a while, so he agrees to housesit for his younger and more successful brother, giving him a free place to stay in L.A. While in town, he tries to reconnect with his old friends and band mates but times have changed, and old friends aren’t necessarily still best friends…(more)

Cast: Ben Stiller, Dave Franco, Rhys Ifans, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Juno Temple, Chris Messina, Brie Larson, Merritt Wever, Mark Duplass and Greta Gerwig

Why is it on the list?: I have this sense of euphoria every time Baumbach presents us with a whole new batch of idiosyncratic characters and from the looks of the trailer, it’ll be interesting to see Reality Bites star and filmmaker Ben Stiller revisiting the Generation X life woes.

Release Date/Status?: A March 26th release.
